SOE’s transfer dawns

… As bill gets ready for tabling

PUBLIC Enterprises Minister, Leon Jooste has expressed confidence that the Amendment Bill that will pave the way for the transfer of state owned en­terprises (SOEs) to his ministry should be ready for tabling in Parliament by 5 June. The transfer is expected to commence as soon as the Bill has been promulgated.
Jooste told Confidente that the entities will be first classified into categories and only those classified as commercial public enterprises will be transferred to his Min­istry.
He however bemoaned the overdue transfer saying the only issue that had de­layed this process has been the formulation of the amendment bill.
