LAND reform deputy minister Bernardus Swartbooi this afternoon told President Hage Geingob that he was not going to apologise for the remarks he made against his senior, Minister Utoni Nujoma about two weeks ago at Hoachanas regarding the land resettlement programme.
Contrary to rumours circulating that outspoken Swaartbooi was fired by President Hage Geingob, Presidential Affairs Minister Frans Kapofi vehemently denied this.
“What I am aware of is that the President had a meeting with him (Swartbooi) this afternoon and he told him to apologise and he refused. The President then told him that if you are not going to apologise resign. He responded that he would do so, he has not been fired and we are not saying he has resigned because we have not received a resignation letter from him,” Kapofi said.
