The trial date for Namibian amateur boxer, Jonas Junias Jonas, has finally been slated for early next year.
According to a media release by the Namibia National Olympic Committee (NNOC) 25 January next year would be the date for the trial to commence.
It said the Law firm representing the Namibian boxer presented a written defence and lodged a request to allow the athlete to return to Namibia,
However, the judge who received the proceeding request on 29 November, decide on 02 December that Junias must remain in Rio de Janeiro.
Junias is being accused of sexually harassing one of the house maids (cleaner) while representing Namibia at the Olympic Games held in Brazil.
The boxer is residing at the Namibian embassy in Rio de Janeiro.
