Cops up for reckless driving

NAMPOL’S Sergeant Na­madi Saima Domingos, who is the official driver of the regional commander of Oshana and commander of anti-poaching operations at Etosha, Rauha Amwele is allegedly being investigated for a case of reckless and negligent driving.
According to the Oshikoto re­gional crime investigation coor­dinator Naomi Katjiua, Domingos was found driving recklessly on Tuesday at about 06h40 between King Nehale and Namutoni.
“It is alleged that the driver of the Toyota double cab Pol 8083 was driving to Namutoni from King Nehale when she bumped a kudu that was crossing the road,” said Katjiua.
Katjiua further said that no in­juries were recorded, only dam­ages to the vehicle.
Another case of reckless and negligent driving was opened against Oshikoto region’s head of community affairs, Chief Inspec­tor, Stephan Nuuyi last week at Oshivelo. It is alleged that Nuuyi, who was driving a police vehicle Pol 9460 was driving to Oshivelo when he bumped a school girl who was crossing the road from Uukumwe combined school and broke her right leg.
The victim, Martha Amon (9) is a resident of Oshivelo.
In another separate incident, a 24-year-old Angolan man was arrested for allegedly raping a 12-year-old pupil on numerous occasions.
Katjiua said that the suspect is alleged to have had raped the victim several times during 2015 in the suspect’s room at Omut­segondjamba, Omuthiya area.
The victim is a grade five pupil at Kandume Combined School.
According to Katjiua, the vic­tim’s mother who resides in Wind­hoek informed the police after she was informed by the housekeeper.
The suspect, who is believed to be a relative and neighbour of the victim, is expected to make a court appearance in the Tsumeb Magistrate’s Court, this week.
Police investigations into the matter are continuing.
